Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Announces Registration Dates for Summer Camp Programming, New Website
COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus Recreation and
Parks Department today announced the schedule for 2021 summer camps and
launched a new website to make it easier for families to review information and
register for camps.
Columbus Recreation and
Parks Department offers opportunities for all ages and interests. There are
activities for youth ages 6-18, including individuals with special needs. Camps
cover a wide range of interests, from arts, crafts, sports and games to science
experiments and outdoor exploration. Participants can register for one-week
sessions or for the entire summer.
The safety of campers
and staff is the first priority, and strict safety measures will remain in
place. Protocols are regularly reviewed, and they include face covering and
social distancing requirements. More information is available about these

time, youth need opportunities for safe, affordable and accessible social
engagement,” said Paul Rakosky, interim director of Columbus Recreation and
Parks Department. “We are excited to open up registration for our summer camps,
where we can provide a wide range of outdoor and indoor experiences for
campers, to boost their social, emotional and educational wellbeing.”
The department is
launching a new website to make it easier for parents to view and register for
available camps. This user-friendly site is a one-stop shop for camp
information, and this new website will allow details to be updated as needed so

Key Registration Dates
Outdoor Recreation Camps
- Operate from June 7 to
mid-August.
- Registration begins Thursday,
Feb. 25, at 7 p.m.
Community Recreation
Camps
- Operate from early June to
mid-August, with various start and end dates for multiple camps.
- Online registration begins
Tuesday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
- In-person registration Tuesday,
March 2, from 7-7:45 p.m. at community centers.
Therapeutic Recreation
Camps
- Operate from June 7 to
mid-August.
- In-person registration Tuesday,
March 2, from 6-7 p.m. at Franklin Park Adventure Center.
