Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Moves Opening Day for City Pools to Monday, May 31
COLUMBUS – Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has moved the opening date for the City’s pools to Monday, May 31. Dodge, Driving Park and Tuttle pools will remain closed Saturday and Sunday, May 29-30, due to the unseasonable low temperatures.
The spray parks at Linden, Blackburn, Barnett and Scioto Southland community centers will also open May 31.
“While we are disappointed that we need to move the opening date of our Dodge, Driving Park and Tuttle pools, with Saturday having a high temperature of 54 degrees, we knew that would not be safe for our visitors,” said Paul Rakosky, interim director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “There’s plenty of summer yet to come, and we look forward to offering residents a fun way to stay active and keep cool during the hot weather that is just around the corner.”
The Dodge, Driving Park and Tuttle pools will be open on Memorial Day, May 31.
All pools will open the week of June 7.
Pools will operate daily in three, two-hour time blocks (12:30-2:30 p.m., 3-5 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.), and all visitors must register in advance, including infants and supervising adults. Children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult (18 and older). Visitors can register online at columbus.gov/pools.
