What is the Discover Boating Program?
A watercraft instruction camp that will teach basic sailing and canoeing skills at the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir. Open to children ages 10-18 years that have intermediate level swimming skills. Children will be taught basic nautical concepts and skills including boating safety, terminology, knot-tying, points of sail, and capsize recovery.

2018 Summer Discover Boating & Outdoor Pool Schedule available March 2018
The 2018 Discover Boating season begins in June 2018 and costs $100 per session for residents, and $110 for non-residents. (An additional $20 charge if transportation is required.)
Classes run in one week intervals, Monday through Friday from 10:00am till 4:00pm. Registrants may participate in multiple sessions, however space is limited.
Transportation is provided from the Columbus Aquatics Center, however registration for this transportation must be done separately and is limited to the first twelve applicants. (Pick up is at 10:00am and drop off is at 4:00pm.)
All life jackets and boating equipment is provided, however campers must bring their own lunch. (Refrigeration is provided.)
All applicants must be able to jump into water over their head and float, swim or tread water for three minutes.
