Become A Member

By becoming a member of our senior program (50+), you can gain access to some of our moderate to high activity programs as well as some active relaxation programs. All members have access to our senior fitness centers as well as our senior sports programs. Sound Interesting? If so, sign up for this great membership at any of the 50+ centers listed below!

MEMBERSHIP RULES

Membership is FREE! Registration must be renewed at your 50+ center every January.

  • Priority for vacationing and educational trips.
  • Priority registration for all senior (50+) classes and activities.
  • Membership to any of the 50+ centers and all four multi-generational facilities, listed below.
  • A Columbus Recreation and Parks Leisure Card is also required, and registration must be completed in person.

Fifty Plus Newsletter

A monthly Senior (50+) newsletter can be mailed to your home, picked up at a (50+) center or viewed online by clicking below.

Gram and Gramp Camp

This camp is designed for grandparents and grandchildren ages 8-12 to spend quality, structured time together. There will be a mix of activities with options to accommodate all activity levels. All participants should bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day.

This camp meets at the McKnight Outdoor Education Center Monday through Thursday 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Creativity Classes

Explore your creative talents with our arts classes! These programs are specifically tailored to our senior residents and are taught by experienced art professionals. Classes we have offered include beading, ceramics, crocheting, drawing, finger looming, fused glass, general crafts, henna, jewelry making, journaling, knitting, needle crafts, painting, sewing, quilting and zendoodle. Looking to get in shape? Improve both your physical and mental health with our programs. We have offered classes such as basketball, biking, cardio boxing, chair workout, chair sports, dance, general stretching and relaxation, line dancing, pickleball, shuffleboard, tai chi, Tae Kwon Do, tennis, tumbling, walking club and water aerobics. Special Interest Classes

Whether it’s playing games with new friends or learning a language, our special interest classes encompass a variety of hobbies. Classes and activities we have offered include book club, card and board games, computer and video games, historical classes, journaling/writing class, languages (American Sign Language & Italian), support groups (Alzheimer’s, arthritis, caregivers, end of life, sickle cell and veterans affairs) and tech help/computer skills.

Take a step to a healthier you! Join a FREE Walk With A Doc Neighborhood Walking Club and take steps to a healthier you! Learn about health from a local doctor, walk for as little or long as you like and enjoy good company.

Senior Food Program

Senior Food Boxes are available for pick-up 1-2 times per month from Dodge and Thompson Community Centers. Sign-up is required. Please call these sites for more information on eligibility.
