Harrington Court Area Water Line Improvements

WaterlineValve.jpg The Harrington Court Area Water Line Improvements Project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s Replacement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Program. The water line project area is located primarily in the Minerva Park Area, with additional work in the Indian Hills neighborhood (see accompanying map(PDF, 921KB)).The goal of this project is to replace existing small diameter (2-inch) water mains as well as other 6-inch through 12-inch water mains that have a high break frequency. Replacement of these water mains will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 9,000 linear feet of water main replacement. The existing water mains range from 48 to 57 years in age and from 2-inches to 12-inches in diameter. Along with the installation of new water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2019.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaisons will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

Division of Water plans to fund this project with a below market-rate loan through the Ohio EPA’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Water to determine the project’s eligibility for the program.

The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View(PDF, 718KB) the of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies.”
