Simpson Drive Area Water Line Improvements

The Simpson Drive Area Water Line Improvements Project will be constructed as part of the Division of Water’s Replacement and Rehabilitation (R &R) Program. The project area is located within the Eastmoor/Walnut Ridge Community Planning Area, east of Hamilton Road and North of East Livingston Avenue (view map). The goal of this project is to replace or rehabilitate the existing 6-inch and 8-inch water lines that have a high break frequency. Replacement of these water lines will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.

The project will include approximately 15,000 linear feet of water line replacement. The existing water mains are approximately 60 years in age and are 6-inches and 8-inches in diameter. Along with the installation of new 8-inch water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin early 2016.

Prior to construction, the Neighborhood Liaison will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may result though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.

The Ohio EPA has granted the Division of Water a loan to fund this project as part of the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA). Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Water to determine the project’s eligibility.
