Opiates are drugs that slow down the activity of the nervous system, which decreases pain and effects breathing. Common Opiates include heroin, oxycodon (Percocet, Percodan, OcyContin), hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lortab, Norco), fentanyl, hydromorphine (Dilaudid), buprenorphine (Subutex, Suboxone), codeine, methadone, morphine, and tramadol (Ultram).
