Manchester Ave Water Line Improvements
CIP 690236-100113
Part of the Division of Water’s (DOW) Replacement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Program, this project is located in the North Linden neighborhood (see map(PDF, 412KB)). The goal is to replace the existing 8-inch, 6-inch, and 2-inch water lines that are close to exceeding their useful life and have a high break history. Replacement of these water lines will improve water service, decrease burden on water maintenance operations, and reduce water loss.
The project will include approximately 3,220 linear feet of water line replacement. The existing water mains are close to 100 years old and vary from 2-inches to 8-inches in diameter. Along with the installation of new water mains, the project will also include new fire hydrant installations and water service transfers. Construction is expected to begin in winter of 2022.
Prior to construction, the local Neighborhood Liaison will be contacted and informed of the project. Further community outreach may occur though the Neighborhood Liaison Program. Notification letters will also be mailed out in advance to residents located near the project area. These letters will provide detailed information regarding the project and important contact numbers.
DOW plans to fund this project with a below market-rate loan through the Ohio EPA’s Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Water to determine the project’s eligibility for the program.
The Ohio EPA has completed a Limited Environmental Review (LER) for this project. View the LER and the letter(PDF, 391KB) of "Notice of Issuance of a Limited Environmental Review and Final Finding of No Significant Impact to All Interested Citizens, Organizations and Government Agencies."
