Public Records Policy
Under Ohio Public Records Law, each department or office of the City of Columbus is responsible for maintaining its own records and responding to public records requests. It is the policy of the City of Columbus that all non-exempt public records are promptly and reasonably made available, upon request, for inspection or copying by any person during regular business hours.

How to Request 
To request records related to your Water, Sewer, Stormwater or Power accounts, bills, or service – please contact Columbus Water & Power Customer Service directly:

To request any other record(s) from Columbus Water & Power, please visit our public records request page. This portal provides a user-friendly interface for submitting and tracking your request and receiving requested records.

Please note: you are not required to submit a public records request via this portal or in writing. The “public records request page” portal, at the link above, is provided as a service to you in order to enhance the City’s ability to identify and locate the records requested, and facilitate the desired method of delivery of the documents.

Please note that Columbus Water & Power is not the custodian of all records within the City of Columbus. Public records requests for other city departments or offices should be submitted to the respective department/office directly to the attention of the "appointed records officer."
