Advancing Equity, Expanding Opportunity, Elevating Potential!

The City of Columbus’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Initiative – MBK Columbus - is committed to advancing equity and opportunity for boys and young men of color by aligning with the MBK Alliance’s six milestones to ensure they can reach their full potential. Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, leadership development, and policy advocacy, MBK Columbus works to eliminate barriers and create pathways to success in education, employment, and community engagement.

Milestones to Success

MBK Columbus’s work is rooted in six key life milestones that research shows are especially predictive of later success, and where interventions can have the greatest impact.

Although the factors that influence success at each stage are complex and interdependent, by focusing on these milestones, doing what works and removing or avoiding roadblocks that hinder progress, we can provide young people the opportunity and the tools to get ahead.
