Blueprint Linden Area Projects

1. Overview

Large capital improvement projects (CIPs) currently underway in support of Blueprint in the Linden area.

2. Blueprint North Linden 1 – Hudson/McGuffey Lateral Lining

Summary: The project is bounded by East Weber Rd on the north, Hamilton Ave on the west, Hudson St on the South, and Cleveland Ave on the east. Construction is expected to begin in early 2024, and completed by the end of 2025. Residents will receive written notice before construction begins with important info, contacts, and a request to restrict water usage for a short period of time (approximately 4 hours).

Sewer lining using trenchless tech This project will rehabilitate approximately 1,245 sanitary sewer service laterals in the project area via “trenchless” methods using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) technology.

The project is approximately bounded by East Weber Rd on the north, Hamilton Ave on the west, Hudson St on the South, and Cleveland Ave on the east.

The goal of this project is to reduce stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer system through leaky joints and cracks in lateral pipes.

Construction is expected to begin in first quarter of 2024, and be complete by the last quarter of 2025.

Each impacted resident will receive written notification from the City’s contractor prior of the lateral rehabilitation. The notifications will give specific information on the timing of the work, contact information, and a request to restrict water usage for a short period of time (approximately 4 hours) while the lateral is being lined.

Financing for this project is being provided through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Pollution Control Loan Fund Program with a below market-rate loan. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Sewerage and Drainage to determine the project’s eligibility.

3. Blueprint N. Linden – Oakland Park/Medina Roof Redirection

Summary: To reduce stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer system, this project will redirect/replace roof drain downspouts from homes in the area of: Oakland Park Avenue on the north, Cleveland Avenue on the east, Weber Road on the South, and Medina Avenue on the west. Construction is expected to begin in early 2023. Impacted residents will receive notice prior to the work with timing and contact info.

This project will redirect or replace roof drain downspouts from selected homes in the project area. Roof drains will be redirected away from house foundations to the curb or other suitable outlet. The project is approximately bounded by Oakland Park Avenue on the north, Cleveland Avenue on the east, Weber Road on the South, and Medina Avenue on the west (project area map(PDF, 659KB)).

The goal of this project is to reduce stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer system.

Construction is expected to begin in first quarter of 2023 and complete by first quarter of 2024.

4. Blueprint North Linden 1 - Agler/Berrell Roof Redirection

Summary: This project will redirect roof drains away from house foundations to the curb to reduce stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer. The project is bounded by Agler on the north, Berrell/Parkwood on the east, Genessee on the South, and Cleveland on the west. Construction is expected to begin in late 2023 and completed in late 2024. Residents will receive notice prior to construction.

Construction is expected to begin early in 2023, and be complete by fall 2024. 7. Blueprint North Linden 1 - Artane/Parkwood Lateral Lining

Summary: This project will rehab ~489 sanitary sewer laterals to reduce stormwater from entering the sanitary sewer system. Bounded by Denune on the north, Parkwood on the east, Hudson on the South, and Cleveland on the west, this project is expected to begin in early 2022, and be completed late in 2023. Residents will receive notice prior to construction regarding timing of the work, contact information, and a request to restrict water usage briefly (4 hours).
