City Council is the legislative branch of the City with the responsibility of adopting annual operating and capital budgets, city contracts and enacting the Columbus City Codes. Council also establishes land use policy through its zoning powers.
Pride Illuminator Nominations
The City of Columbus announced that it is now accepting nominations for the Shellabarger Illuminator Award. The award, which recognizes a Central Ohioan whose leadership in promoting LGBTQ+ rights has helped foster inclusion within the city, will be presented at the annual City Hall Pride Illumination Ceremony on Monday, June 1 at 8 p.m. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 13 at 5 p.m.
