Income Qualified Discount

We strive to make utility access more equitable and affordable.

Eligible Columbus Water & Power (CWP) customers will receive a 30% discount on their water and/or power usage. Qualifying seniors, 60 and older, may be eligible to have their service charges waived.

Who Qualifies for this Program:

Any active CWP customer who is already enrolled in qualifying assistance programs such as: SNAP, Ohio Medicaid, HEAP, Ohio Works First or is receiving public housing benefits.
Any household with income below 200% of the federal poverty level. Example: a family of three making $51,876 or less per year would qualify. See chart below.
Approved applicants over 60 may qualify for additional discounts.

Qualifying Income Levels for this Program

Qualification is based on the income of all household members over 18. The adjusted maximum gross income follows:

The above income limits are based on 200% of the current federal poverty level and are updated annually in February. NOTE: If you are enrolled in other low income programs such as SNAP, Ohio Medicaid, HEAP, etc., you can still qualify for our program regardless of the income table above.
