Neighborhoods hosts sold-out Black History Month screening of “Genius: MLK/X” at COSI
Columbus, OH—The City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods will conclude its “One Dream, Many Voices” event series with a special Black History Month screening of the limited series Genius: MLK/X.
Event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at COSI’s Giant Screen Theater.
The event, which is currently sold out with 380 residents expected to attend, offers a powerful look at the formative years and intersecting legacies of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Attendees will view the first two episodes of the series, which highlight pivotal moments including Dr. King’s university graduation and Malcolm X’s release from prison, illustrating the foundations of their distinct ideologies within a transforming America.
“As the ‘front door’ to the City, our goal is to empower residents and celebrate the diverse voices that shape our community,” said Kym Douglas, Director of the Department of Neighborhoods. “Closing our ‘One Dream, Many Voices’ series with this exploration of two of history’s most influential leaders is a fitting tribute to Black History Month.”
The afternoon will feature a brief program with remarks from Director Douglas and Dr. Frederic Bertley, President and CEO of COSI, followed by the screening.
To enhance the community experience, guests will enjoy a free photo booth, drinks and movie snacks.
