2026 Filing Season Information

CRISP - File & Pay Online: The quickest and easiest way to file your Columbus taxes is through the Columbus Revenue Information Service Portal (CRISP). With CRISP, you can easily register, file, and pay local income taxes (Individual, Business, and Withholding), check your refund status, review estimated payments, and more—all in one convenient, user-friendly place. Tax preparers with multiple clients and bulk withholding filers can also take advantage of CRISP’s enhanced features. Visit CRISP at crisp.columbus.gov.

Filing Deadlines: The filing due date for 2025 individual returns is April 15, 2026 and for business returns it is April 15, 2026.

Penalty and Interest Rates: Effective January 1, 2026, the penalty rate for late payment of taxes is 15%. Employer withholding payments not received timely will be subject to a penalty rate of 50%. The interest rate for calendar year 2026 is 9%.

Where's My Refund?: The quickest way to check your refund status is to access your account directly by logging into CRISP (crisp.columbus.gov). Please have your filed tax return in front of you for verification purposes.

Forms Available: If not using CRISP, individual, corporate, and employer filing forms and instructions are available in the Forms section of the Income Tax Division website. The City of Columbus Income Tax Division uses Adobe fillable PDF forms. Most browsers can display the PDF, but the fillable features will be disabled. To use the forms provided by the City of Columbus Income Tax Division, we recommend you download the forms and open them using the newest version of Acrobat Reader.

Payment Information: If you are not paying on CRISP and need to pay by check or money order, please make check or money order payable to the City Treasurer.

Mailing Information: The Division is no longer accepting tax returns or payments in person and if you are unable to file and pay online, please use the mailing addresses below.

Note that all paper tax returns and payments are forwarded to and processed by our banking partner, JPMorgan Chase in a secure, state of the art facility (see “Return Processing Information”).
