Utility Discount Programs

Water Low Income & Senior Citizen Discounts

Those who qualify for the Low Income program will receive a 25% (starting January 1, 2025) discount off water & sewer usage charges and a one-time credit of $65. Seniors 60+ who qualify for that program, will also have their monthly service charges waived. You can apply and upload supporting documents online for these programs using one stream-lined application. 

 

New starting January 1, 2025:

  • Maximum income level based on 200% of the federal poverty level (up from 150%, allowing more to qualify)

Power Low Income & Senior Discounts

Starting January 1, 2025, we now offer a low income discount for City of Columbus Power customers. Those who qualify will get a 25% discount off their energy usage and a one-time $50 credit on their bill. Seniors age 60 and older who qualify for that program, will also have their service charges waived (about $11.25 per month).

Note: The above income limits are based on 200% of the current federal poverty level and are updated annually in February. *Starting in 2025, income limits were raised based on 200% of the federal poverty level (up from 150%), allowing more to qualify. NOTE: If you are enrolled in other low income programs such as SNAP, Ohio Medicaid, HEAP, etc., you can still qualify for our program regardless of the income table above.
