Community Liaison Section
The Community Liaison Section consists of 20 Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) who routinely patrol their precincts, providing support and assistance to patrol officers assigned to these precincts. The Community Liaison Section is divided into two units, North and South. The North unit is made up of officers from Zones 1, 4, and 6 and the South Unit is Zones 2, 3, and 5. One CLO is assigned to each of the 20 patrol precincts. The Community Liaison Sections mission is to provide law enforcement services to the assigned precincts by collaborating with the public and community groups to address incidents that affect quality of life issues. The CLO’s organize presentations, demonstrations, and speakers from within the Division for various groups within in our communities.
The CLOs regularly interact with community groups, block watches, civic associations, business organizations, non-profits, city-departments, schools, and churches within the city’s 20 patrol precincts. They regularly attend community events as well as scheduled block watch, civic association, and business meetings to work collaboratively to educate, promote safety, and address crime and quality of life issues that impact communities throughout Columbus.
