Blueprint Miller-Kelton Area Projects

1. Overview

Large capital improvement projects (CIPs) currently underway in support of Blueprint in the Miller Kelton area. These projects are generally bounded by Mooberry Street on the north, East Livingston Avenue on the south, Miller Avenue on the east, and S18th Street on the west. 2. Newton Bedford Area Green Infrastructure

Summary: This project will build rain gardens along Champion and Miller Avenues to provide detention and water quality improvement to rain water that will be redirected from the sanitary sewer system by future Blueprint projects. The project is expected to begin late in 2025 and last 185 days.

It will construct rain gardens at following locations:

  • 601-603 S. Champion Avenue
  • 717-723 Miller Avenue
  • 663 Miller Avenue

The goal of the project is to provide detention and water quality improvement to rain water that will be redirected from the sanitary sewer system by future Blueprint projects. Learn more about Blueprint Columbus.

The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $1.73 million, and construction is anticipated to begin 4th quarter of 2025 and last 185 days.

Financing is being provided through a below market-rate loan through the OEPA's Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) Program. Prior to granting this loan, the Ohio EPA required a detailed submittal from the Division of Water Reclamation to determine the project's eligibility.

Summary: This project will re-construct streets using permeable pavement at several locations. The goal is to provide detention and water quality improvement to rain water that will be redirected from the sanitary sewer system by future Blueprint projects. Construction is anticipated to begin late in 2025 and last 365 days.

  • Carpenter Street – Newton Street to Stone Avenue
  • 22nd Street – Newton Street to Mooberry Street
  • Linwood Avenue – Livingston Avenue to Newton Street
  • Linwood Avenue – Newton Street to Mooberry Street
  • Kimball PL – Livingstone Avenue to Gault Street
