City’s 2026 "Rise Up CBUS!" event series launches May 7
Aims to strengthen neighborhood ties and connectivity

Columbus, OH
— The City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods announces the return of Rise Up CBUS!, a popular community event series designed to celebrate local neighborhood pride and connect residents with vital city resources. The 2026 season officially kicks off on Thursday, May 7, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fruit of the Spirit Church.

For years now, Rise Up CBUS! has supported Mayor Andrew J. Ginther’s initiative to ensure every resident in Columbus can equitably prosper and grow. These free, family-friendly outdoor events provide a meaningful opportunity where neighbors can enjoy:

  • One-on-one engagement with City departments and community partners to learn about available programs and resources
  • Local music and performances
  • Children’s activities, games and a welcoming community atmosphere
  • Complimentary meals and treats for attendees while supplies last

"We are taking community pride to a whole new level," said Mobile City Hall and Rise Up CBUS! Manager Bruce Black with the Department of Neighborhoods. "Rise Up CBUS! is about bringing the City to you, fostering unity and making sure every neighbor knows they have a seat at the table.”

2026 Rise Up CBUS! Schedule
(Events run 4:30-7:30 p.m.):

Admission is always free and open to the public.

NOTE: Photos, graphics, interviews and B-roll may be available upon request.
