FREE Black History Month movie celebration at COSI

WHO:         Brief speakers:

                   Kym Douglas, Director of the City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods

                   Dr. Frederic Bertley, President and CEO of COSI

WHAT:      City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods closes out their “One Dream, Many Voices” event series by hosting a free Black History Month event screening of Genius: MLK/X (Rated TV-14) at COSI’s Giant Screen Theater.

This limited series explores the formative years and intersecting paths of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Episodes 1 and 2 will be shown, featuring pivotal moments such as Malcolm’s release from prison, MLK’s university graduation, and the foundations of their ideological differences–all set against the backdrop of a changing America.

Free photo booth, snacks and popcorn will be provided.

The screening is sold out with seating for 380. 

WHEN:      Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026

                   2-5 p.m.

                   2 p.m.—doors open, registration
                   2:45 p.m.—brief program
                   3 p.m.—films begin
