Internship Application

Columbus City Council is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Legislative Internship Program. This paid opportunity allows junior or senior undergraduates and first-year graduate students to gain firsthand experience in municipal governance at City Hall in downtown Columbus.

Program Details

  • Duration: Monday - September 14, 2026, through Friday - May 28, 2027.
  • Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
  • Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week.
  • Placements: Councilmember offices, Community Engagement, Communications, the City Clerk, or the Legislative Research Office.
  • Core Duties: Policy analysis, constituent services, data collection, and legislative research.

Key Timeline Dates

  • Application Deadline: Saturday - July 11, 2026.
  • Interview Window: Monday - July 20, 2026 – Friday - July 31, 2026.
  • Selection Notification: Thursday - August 6, 2026.
