HealthMap 2022

Franklin County HealthMap 2022 is the result of a broad collaborative effort, coordinated by the Central Ohio Hospital Council (COHC), intended to help hospitals and other organizations better understand the health needs and priorities of Franklin County residents.

Key Community Health Indicators

Annually, the Office of Epidemiology presents the latest data for Columbus, Franklin County, and Ohio on a select subset of health measures from the Community Health Assessment, including the areas of leading causes of death, infectious disease, maternal and child health, prevalence of health risk behaviors and conditions, mental health and addiction, and access to healthcare.

Community Health Assessment (CHA)

The Community Health Assessment, developed out of a multi-stakeholder collaborative, describes the health status and identifies health priorities for Franklin County residents.

Ohio County Health and Well-being Information

2019 Online State Health Assessment   An interactive website that displays state and county-level data on topics such as demographic trends, leading causes of death, population health, healthcare spending, access to health care, public health and prevention, social and economic environment, and physical environment.

Annual Summaries of Reportable Diseases

These reports contain summary data of infectious disease among Franklin County, Ohio residents.

 

Comprehensive Addiction-Related Data (initially released Feb 2020)

This report is updated quarterly and provides a comprehensive overview of addiction-related data for Columbus and Franklin County.

Suspected Overdoses- EMS Runs and ED Visits (2016 to Current)

This report is updated weekly to provide information on patients treated by Columbus Division of Fire for suspected drug overdose, and patients who present in Franklin County emergency departments for suspected overdose. 

 

Violence Data Brief (released February 2023)

This data brief provides a snapshot of a serious public health problem through local, state and national indicators of violence. An accompanying issue brief is forthcoming.

Youth Suicide (2008-2017)

This report examines the 48 suicides among Franklin County youth, with the goal of informing ways to prevent future deaths. 

Community Injury Assessment Reports (Central Ohio Trauma System Report)
Contains a public health assessment of motor vehicle crashes, falls and assault injuries in central Ohio.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

This presentation contains information about chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV among Franklin County and Central Ohio residents.

Syphilis Outbreak Reports

Between 2013 and 2017, early syphilis rates more than doubled in Franklin County, Ohio. Early syphilis includes primary, secondary, and early latent syphilis diagnoses. Columbus Public Health has implemented a variety of efforts in dealing with the outbreak. These quarterly and three-year reports describe the trends, demographics, and risk factors of early syphilis cases in Franklin County, Ohio.
