Incident Summary: On September 20th, 2026, at approximately 9:24 AM, Columbus Police patrol officers were dispatched to the Drive-Thru Carryout at the intersection of Lockbourne Rd. and Lawrence Dr. on an injury hit skip crash involving a bicycle and a black Ford F-150. As a result of the crash the bicyclist was taken to Grant Medical Center by CFD Medic 14. The bicyclist was transported in critical condition, but was later up graded to stable with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 was uninjuried in the crash and fled the scene after the crash, but was located a short time later. The crash investigation is currently ongoing.

Incident Summary: On September 20, 2026, at approximately 1:27 a.m., a Dodge Challenger, Dodge Ram, and Hyundai Elantra were involved in a crash on I-670 westbound near the SR-315 interchange.

 

The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced, Jordan Decker, deceased at the scene, and additional occupants were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Involved parties reported that a fourth vehicle, a smaller SUV, may have also been involved in the crash and left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

 

The Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, which remains ongoing.

Incident Summary: On September 18, 2026, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a dark-colored sedan was turning from westbound Schrock Road onto southbound Busch Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

 

The sedan continued southbound after the collision. The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

The suspected vehicle was later recovered. The Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit responded and initiated an investigation, which remains ongoing.

Incident Summary: On September 17, 2026, at approximately 12:15 PM, Columbus Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to a potential shooting in the 2700 Block of E. 5th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.

 

Through investigation, Detectives identified the listed suspect as the shooter. Charges were filed for Felonious Assault and Weapons Possession. The suspect was arrested without incident.

Incident Summary: On 9/17/2026 at 12:29 am, Mario Tufts-Davison was operating a 2011 Kia Optima in the #2 lane of eastbound I-270 between I-71 and Cleveland Ave. At the same time an Adult was operating a 2017 Ram 2500 and entered I-270 eastbound going westbound, from the eastbound I-270 exit ramp to Cleveland Ave. The Ram continued going the wrong way into the path of the Kia. The front of the Ram struck the front of the Kia. The impact pushed the Kia backwards in a northwest direction into the median wall. The Ram came to rest on top of the Kia. Columbus Fire arrived at the crash scene and CFD EMS 12 pronounced Mario Tufts-Davison dead at 12:40 am. The Adult driver of the Ram was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition by CFD Medic #806.

 

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.

Incident Summary: On September 14, 2026, at approximately 2:48pm, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Bannon Ct. on a suicide call. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive individual in an upstairs bedroom. As the officers checked the rest of the house, they found another unresponsive individual in the garage. Officers summoned Columbus Fire personnel, who pronounced both individuals deceased at 5:02pm. From the preliminary investigation, this incident appears to be a murder/suicide. The next of kin notification has been made.

Incident Summary: On 9/14/2026 at approximately 8:51pm an adult was operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on Breigha Drive approaching Cloverhill Drive. For reasons still under investgiation, the adult ran a stop sign and struck a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling southbound on Cloverhill Drive. The adult was transported to Grant Medical Center by Prairie Township Fire personnel in critical condition. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee remained at scene and was uninjured.

Incident Summary: On 11/4/2025 at 10:56 am, an adult male was operating a bicycle westbound on Eakin Rd. approaching Midland Ave. with the flow of traffic. When an adult male operating, white 2005 Ford E-350 Econoline van, turning from southbound Midland Ave. to eastbound Eakin Rd. struck the bicyclist as the van traveled into the westbound lanes of Eakin Rd traveling eastbound for reasons unknown at this time. The bicyclist was ejected off of his bicycle onto the roadway, and the white van continued on eastbound on Eakin Rd failing to stop after the crash. The van and the adult male operating it were located with help of a witness. The adult male bicyclist was transport to Grant Hospital by CFD Medic #12 where he was treated for his injuries.

 

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.

 

**UPDATE** The Franklin County Grand Jury indicted Ricardo Sanchez for Hit-Skip, Aggravated Vehicular Assault and Vehicular Assault.

Incident Summary: On 9/11/2026 at approximately 7:04 PM, Mr. Carl Moorer Sr. was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban westbound I-70 west of S. James Rd. For reasons unknown, Mr. Moorer lost control of his vehicle to the left side of the freeway. Mr. Moorer's vehicle drove through a cable barrier system and struck a overhead street sign causing his vehicle to flip several times. Mr. Moorer was ejected out of the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Mr. Moorer was pronounced deceased by Columbus Division of Fire Medic 4 at 7:11 PM.

Incident Summary: On 9-10-26 at approximately 6:33 pm, an adult was operating a beige GMC Acadia west on E. 5th Ave. passing Sterling Ave. in the left lane. At the same time a black Dodge Charger, with tinted windows, was traveling west on E. 5th Ave. in the right lane. The Charger struck the right rear side of the Acadia causing the Acadia to lose control and strike a telephone pole on the south side of the street. The Charger then fled the scene of the crash. Two adults were transported to Ohio Health Grant Medical Center in stable condition and three juveniles were transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital in stable condition. One of the juveniles sustained serious injuries.

 

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.

Incident Summary: Updated 9/10/2026: Detectives continued to investigate and determined a second person, Omar Mohamed Omar, age 17, was also involved in the murder of Mr. Mohamed. Mr. Omar was interviewed and slated at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

Updated 9/8/2026: After an extensive investigation, Homicide detectives were able to identify Mariah Vinson, age 17, as the person responsible for the death of Mr. Mohamed. Ms. Vinson stated the shooting occurred after a dispute. Ms. Vinson was interviewed and slated at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

On August 30, 2026, at approximately 11:32 PM, Columbus Police Patrol officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Lion Dr. on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene and found a male, later identified as MOHAMED MUSA MOHAMED, aged 20, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Franklin Township Medic 192 personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite all efforts by medical personnel, Mr. Mohamed was pronounced deceased at 1:16 AM. Next of kin has been notified.

Incident Summary: On 9/9/2026, at approximately 8:44 p.m., Columbus Police responded to Morse Road at Maize Road for an adult pedestrian struck by a car. For reasons still under investigation, Mr. Uddin was walking northbound across Morse Road outside of a marked crosswalk during a heavy rain. Mr.

Uddin was struck by a silver Chevrolet Traverse traveling westbound on Morse Road. The driver of the Traverse remained at scene. Mr. Uddin was transported in critcal condition to Riverside Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Incident Summary: On April 5, 2026 at approximately 7:35 PM, Columbus Police patrol officers were dispatched to Interstate 70 Westbound at East Livingston Avenue for a 3 vehicle accident. Multiple juveniles were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained from the crash. At this time, the scene was cleared and a report was taken. At approximately 9:20 PM, one of the referenced juveniles was determined to have sustained a serious injury, and as a result detectives with the Accident Investigation Unit were notified and responded to conduct an investigation. All three juveniles are expected to survive their injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Summary: On 6/25/2026 at 2:17PM, a 2023 Can Am Ryder was traveling westbound throug a parking lot in the rear of 3797 S. High St., at the same time a 2012 Cadillac SRX was traveling southbound in the parking lot. The Cadillac struck the right rear of the Can Am causing the rider to lose control. The driver was ejected off and was tranported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in stable condition by Hamilton Township Medic 173. Upon a follow up at Grant Hospital, the male rider was pronounced deceased by ER Doctor at 6:15 PM.

Exotics, classics, muscles, imports, sports, customs, bikes, trikes, Corvettes, and more will be parked on the Rich Street Bridge, Civic Center Drive, and Washington Boulevard from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will also feature local food truck vendors and much more!

 

Any vehicle owners looking to attend are required to register onsite at Broad Street and Civic Center Drive. All proceeds will benefit the Columbus Police Foundation.

 

Admission is free to the public. Parking will be unavailable on the following roads from 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026 until 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026:

  • Civic Center Dr. from Broad St. to Cherry St.

  • Washington Blvd. from Broad St. to Belle St.

  • Rich St. from S. Ludlow St. to Belle St.

*The above roads will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. and will reopen upon the conclusion of the event.

Incident Summary: On the listed date and time, CPD Patrol officers responded to the report of a walk in shooting victim at St. Ann's hospital. Upon arrival, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, the victim was transferred to Mount Carmel East Hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later. Homicide detectives are investigating. The NOK has been notified. The motive behind this homicide is unknown at this time.

Incident Summary: On 9/1/2026 at approximately 4:30pm an adult was operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on I70 approaching Front St. For reasons still under investgiation the adult lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down. The adult was transported to Grant Medical Center by Columbus Division of Fire personnel in critical condition.

 

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.
