Incident Summary: On 9/4/26 at 6:16am, officers were dispatched to 700 block of Stewart Ave for someone who had been shot. The victim was inside her house when shots were fired from the outside with one coming inside the structure through a window The bullet struck the victim in the right arm. The victim was transported in stable condition to a local hospital by medic and treated for her injuries. The victim is expected to survive her injuries. The investigation continues.

Fourth Annual ‘Rich Street Roar’

The Columbus Division of Police has partnered with WSYX ABC 6, The Ohio State University Police Division, the Ohio Highway Patrol, Columbus Recreations and Parks, and The Columbus Police Foundation, to host the fourth annual Rich Street Roar on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Exotics, classics, muscles, imports, sports, customs, bikes, trikes, Corvettes, and more will be parked on the Rich Street Bridge, Civic Center Drive, and Washington Boulevard from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will also feature local food truck vendors and much more!

 

Any vehicle owners looking to attend are required to register onsite at Broad Street and Civic Center Drive. All proceeds will benefit the Columbus Police Foundation.

 

Admission is free to the public. Parking will be unavailable on the following roads from 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026 until 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026:

  • Civic Center Dr. from Broad St. to Cherry St.

  • Washington Blvd. from Broad St. to Belle St.

  • Rich St. from S. Ludlow St. to Belle St.

*The above roads will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. and will reopen upon the conclusion of the event.

Incident Summary: On the listed date and time, CPD Patrol officers responded to the report of a walk in shooting victim at St. Ann's hospital. Upon arrival, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, the victim was transferred to Mount Carmel East Hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later. Homicide detectives are investigating. The NOK has been notified. The motive behind this homicide is unknown at this time.

Incident Summary: On 9/1/2026 at approximately 4:30pm an adult was operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on I70 approaching Front St. For reasons still under investgiation the adult lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down. The adult was transported to Grant Medical Center by Columbus Division of Fire personnel in critical condition.

 

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the crash scene and initiated an investigation, which is ongoing.
