Every parent wants their baby to sleep soundly and safely. But with so much information out there, it can be confusing to know the best practices. Here at CelebrateOne, we're committed to empowering parents with the knowledge they need to raise healthy babies. That's why we're focusing on the ABCs of Safe Sleep – a simple yet critical guideline for keeping your little one safe at night.
A – AloneYour baby should always sleep alone, on their own sleep surface. This means no pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, or other loose items in the crib. These items can increase the risk of suffocation or overheating.
B – BackThe safest position for babies to sleep in is on their back. This reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related deaths.
C – CribUse a firm, flat mattress with a fitted sheet that hugs the mattress snugly. Avoid using crib bumpers, sleep positioners and wedges, as these can also increase the risk of suffocation.
Additional Tips for Safe Sleep:
Remember: Every baby is different and some may not sleep through the night right away. Be patient and consistent with your safe sleep practices. If you have any concerns about your baby's sleep, talk to your pediatrician.
