2024 Responsible Wage

Pursuant to Code Section 329.18(b)(11), the Finance and Management Director has determined that the responsible wage for purposes of service contracts for the year 2024 will be $20.00 per hour. In determining the best bidder for the purposes of awarding a contract for any service, it is required that a bidder pay a responsible wage to employees who will be performing the work specified in the bid solicitation.

The responsible wage statute has changed from previous years, in the following three ways.

  • The responsible wage must be paid on all service contracts.
  • There is no exemption for business with less than twenty-five (25) full time employees.
  • The code has been clarified that this responsible wage is applicable for all contracts executed, modified and/or renewed starting January 1 of 2024.

For more information, please see Ordinance 2052-2023.
