Council Holds Hearing to Discuss Short North Special Parking Area

What:
Councilmembers Shannon Hardin and Jaiza Page are convening a public hearing to review parking in the Short North.
As part of the Short North Parking Study, consultants recommended the creation of a Special Parking Area that would create an administrative process to address parking deficiencies and establish appropriate parking requirements for an urban environment.
Over the past year, the departments of Public Service, Building and Zoning and Development drafted a proposal to create a process of managing parking deficiencies on a consistent basis and require an in-lieu fee when parking requirements are not met.
This hearing is an opportunity for residents and developers to learn more about the proposal and provide input.
Public testimony will be accepted. Comments are limited to 3 minutes. Individuals wishing to offer testimony must fill out a speaker slip at the hearing.
