Ways to Support a New Mom
Mothers, partners, grandmothers, friends, pastors and other community leaders can support Mom in her new role.
CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassadors
If you are interested in helping moms-to-be and new moms and babies in your community, we can give you the training and resources to take action.
Become a CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassador to start saving Columbus babies today.
Sleep-related deaths cause too many babies to die in our community, and we can avoid them if we remember our ABCs. Babies must sleep Alone, on their Backs, and in an empty Crib free of bumpers, blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals.
To spread this message far-and-wide, making the ABCs of Safe Sleep the norm in Columbus, join the CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassador Program.
As a CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassador, you will:
1. Attend one training course taught by Columbus Public Health Infant Safe Sleep Experts, who will teach you the basics of infant safe sleep
2. Be empowered as a safe sleep advocate in your community
3. Be responsible for educating at least 10 more community member
4. Become an integral part of helping Columbus reduce its infant mortality rate
As a CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassador, you can choose how you will teach others about safe sleep. You can share your knowledge informally in everyday conversations with friends, family, co-workers, or in a more formal way by holding organized group meetings at work, churches, schools, community centers… it’s up to you!
The CelebrateOne Safe Sleep Ambassador trainings will be conducted by Columbus Public Health. For any questions or to RSVP for a training, call 614-645-5872.
Donations to CelebrateOne will go towards our direct outreach to new moms, fund our public education campaigns and help us purchase cribs so that every baby in central Ohio has a safe place to sleep.
