join Councilmember Shannon Hardin and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther as we
present the Steven Shellabarger Illuminator Award and light up City
Hall in a rainbow of colors to honor Columbus Pride Week.
The
recipients Gloria McCauley and Linda Schuler won the award for their
outstanding initiatives promoting LGBTQ rights in Columbus.
Gloria
McCauley is the founder and leader of BRAVO. BRAVO works to eliminate violence
perpetrated on the LGBTQ community through education, advocacy, violence
documentation and survivor services.
Linda
Schuler, chair of the Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade, has been the driving
organizational force behind the annual event for the past 20 years. Behind the
scenes, Linda has paved the way for the inclusion of the LGBTQ community in
Columbus.
