Priscilla Tyson, chair of the Health and Human Services Committee and
Columbus Public Health is hosting an Urban Farm Tour Series is a joint project sponsored by the Franklin County Office of Ohio State University Extension, and the Columbus Urban Farmers Network. The goal of the Columbus Urban Farm Tour Series tours is to
demonstrate to the general public the many benefits of urban farms in Columbus.
This year, the City of Columbus invested more than $30,000 into the community garden grant.
The Columbus and Franklin County Local Food Action Plan identifies community gardens as a way to:
- Increase access to healthy food, affordable food, and local food.
- Grow capacity and enhance viability of civic agriculture to allow more residents to grow food for themselves and their neighbors.
