WHO:
Members of Columbus City Council
WHEN:
Wednesday, June 30, 2021
10am
WHERE:
Linden Community Center
1350 Briarwood Ave.
WHAT:
City Council continues the work to focus on neighborhood safety and anti-violence programming while modernizing and reforming public safety, based on input from residents. Through the Reimagining Public Safety initiative, Council is building a more equitable City for all residents.
In the summer and fall of 2020, City Council passed a series of legislative packages which began the process to Reimagine Public Safety. The work continues.
“Every resident deserves to feel safe no matter where they live or when they leave the house,” said Council President Shannon G. Hardin. "With this legislative package, we aim to keep neighborhoods safe, continue reform, and build trust between the community and law enforcement."
Council will announce both short and long-term proposals. Some elements will be advanced in July while others will be brought forward this fall after Council’s legislative recess.
This in-person event will be for media only.
The event will be posted on the Council’s Facebook Page and the Columbus City Council YouTube Page.
