Councilmember Shayla D. Favor

When:
March 1, 2022
5:45 - 6:30pm

Where:
Columbus City Hall
90 West Broad Street

What:

In honor of Women’s History Month, Councilmember Shayla D. Favor and the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Columbus Alumnae Chapter will host “Empowering Women to Serve,” an event to bring awareness to the issues affecting women in our community.

“Since its inception, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s commitment to serve women has been felt by communities across our nation," said Councilmember Favor. "Tonight, we are illuminating city hall in honor of the strong women leading the Columbus Chapter."

"As members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., we celebrate March as our National Sisterhood month, acknowledging, cheering, and supporting our 300,000 plus sisters across the world and their respective impact," said Tamara Staley, President of Columbus Alumnae Chapter. "Of course, not forgetting March as Women History Month, we stand proudly on the shoulders of our 22 Founders who marched in the 1913 Women’s Suffrage March and were the only women of color.”

The “Empowering Women to Serve,” kick-off will include the lighting of City Hall. Join us and numerous community partners as we advocate for issues plaguing not only women and our youth but also all residents in our city.
