Discusses Safety, City Budget with Clintonville Residents
(Columbus)—Columbus City Council President Andrew J. Ginther was the featured speaker at the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce
Business Networking Luncheon. A diverse crowd of neighborhood residents
and business owners attended the luncheon, which is held monthly by the
Chamber.
“City
Council is working with Mayor Coleman and Auditor Dorrian to craft a
responsible, balanced 2013 budget that focuses precious resources on keeping
the public safe, building strong neighborhoods, and investing in economic
development to bring jobs and innovative industries to Columbus,” said Council
President Ginther. “The financial position of our city is getting
stronger every day thanks to City Council’s focus on savings and reforms in
City government.”
In
his remarks and during a subsequent question-and-answer period, Ginther
discussed the Council’s recent commitment to invest an
additional $3 million in the City’s Rainy Day Fund, the various reforms
that the City has implemented since 2009 to save taxpayers more than $200
million by 2019, and Council’s continued investments in
jobs and economic development.
