Statement from Columbus City Council President Andrew J.
Ginther
Regarding Columbus City Schools Superintendent Search
“I commend Columbus Board of Education President Carol
Perkins and the Board for suspending their search for a permanent Columbus City
Schools superintendent, and instead refocusing their efforts on finding an
interim superintendent. Their action will allow the Board the time needed to further
engage the community, to receive the recommendations of the Columbus Education
Commission and to align our collective responsibilities to educate and serve
our children. By moving forward, together the Board, Mayor Coleman and the
community will ensure that Columbus attracts the best superintendent for
Columbus City Schools. The Board’s decision places the district on the path for
success.”
