Compensation Commission Holds Public Hearing

WHAT:
The
Citizens’ Commission on Elected Official Compensation will hold their fifth
meeting to study and recommend compensation levels for the mayor, council, city
attorney, and auditor. This meeting will be a public hearing to accept comment
on commission work and progress.
The public is
encouraged to sign-up to speak per the rules of City Council. Additional opportunities to address the
Commission will be scheduled outside of traditional work hours and the public
is also encouraged to provide comment via the Commission’s dedicated Web page, where residents can
also review meeting materials and watch streaming video of all Commission
meetings. Residents may also contact the Commission via mail, email and phone
per the contact information provided on the Web page.
The
meeting will be taped for broadcast on CTV, Columbus’ cable access channel 3 on
local cable systems.
The
Commission, made up of five Columbus residents, adds an additional layer of
citizen engagement and accountability to the process of setting future pay
rates for elected officials in Columbus and was mandated by recent changes to
the Columbus City Charter overwhelmingly approved by Columbus voters last
November.
