2015 Employment for Seniors Career Expo
Councilmember
Shannon G. Hardin, chair of the Minority & Small Business Development
Committee, encourages area residents who are 50 and older to attend the 2015
Employment For Seniors Career Expo (pdf link).
The expo is provided by Employment For Seniors, Inc. and
features area employers, resource agencies and more than a dozen workshops
including computer training classes.
“The
Employment For Seniors Career Expo connects the more experienced members of the
workforce with employers in both the public and private sectors,” said Councilmember
Hardin. “These are employers who are
ready to hire people who are ready to work.”
Employment For Seniors, Inc. has provided career assistance and resources to nearly 30,000 clients,
free of charge, over the past 40 years.
Trained volunteer job counselors work with clients, prepare them for
their job search, and connect them to employers through our job referral
process.
“Mature job seekers
face incredible challenges in their search for employment. The Senior
Career Expo provides positive benefits to each individual. The Expo not
only includes opportunities for face-to-face meetings with employers, but an
array of educational career workshops to learn the job search skills needed in
today’s economy, from experts in our community”, said Carol Ventresca,
executive director of Employment For Seniors.
