Q: How long have you worked for the city of
Columbus?What keeps you here?
A: I love my job! I am at the point now that there is no place
else I want to be. I have worked the 6-7
days a week, 10-12 hour a day jobs and I don’t want to do that anymore. I feel blessed to be in the place I am. Anything they need me to do, I don’t hesitate
to do it.
Q: Have you had opportunities for further
development or training?
A: Yes.
You can take schooling for free, there’s training at Citywide Training
in the Jerry Hammond Center. When the
managers learn they can rely on you, they will ask you to work on special
projects. I am also a trainer, so when
new folks come in off the street, I show them the ropes of the job as best as I
can to be as successful as they can here.
