Grady L. Pettigrew
Grady L. Pettigrew, Jr. serves as President of the Commission.
Mr. Pettigrew has served on the Municipal Civil Service Commission since
04/18/2000. Mr. Pettigrew retired from the practice of law in 2010.
During his years of practice, he specialized in bankruptcy, reorganizations,
civil litigation, general business, and other legal areas. Mr. Pettigrew
is a former federal judge, a law teacher, an author, and a national
speaker. He graduated from The Ohio State University and The Ohio State
University Mortiz College of Law.
Delena Edwards serves as a member of the Commission with a term expiring January 31, 2014. Ms. Edwards currently is in private practice, has also served as in-house counsel for a major corporation and as an adjunct professor at Capital University Law School. Her areas of practice have included bankruptcy, business, contracts, domestic relations, employment law, and personal injury. Ms. Edwards graduated from Ohio University in 1981 and from the University of Iowa, College of Law in 1985.
Stefanie Lynn Coe serves as a member of the Commission with a term expiring January 31, 2022. Outside of the Commission, Ms. Coe has been an attorney in Central Ohio for sixteen years. She currently owns her own firm.
Ms. Coe was the General Counsel of MPW Industrial Services Group, Inc. until November 2018 when she left to pursue a career path more aligned with her passions, serving and advocating for the needs of our children and families. She is currently practicing juvenile and family law, criminal defense, general business and education law as a solo practitioner. She continues to volunteer as a Guardian Ad Litem with Court Appointed Special Advocates (2020 marks seventeen years as a volunteer), working with children in need of education advocacy and developing and presenting training in her related fields.
Prior to joining MPW, Ms. Coe was an Assistant City Attorney in Columbus, Ohio.
Ms. Coe graduated in 2001 from the University of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree in communication with minors in political science and women’s studies. She received her juris doctor degree from The Ohio State University’s Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 2004.
C. Amy DeLong
Amy DeLong was appointed the Executive Director of the
Civil Service Commission January 10, 2011. Ms. DeLong previously served
as the Director of Human Resources and EEO Officer for the State of Ohio
Department of Development. She also has served as Human Resources
Administrator for the Ohio Department of Transportation, Director of Career
Services for Capital University Law School, and Manager at ManTech
International. Ms. DeLong has a bachelor’s degree from Capital University
and a law degree from Capital University Law School.
