Downtown On-Street Parking Restrictions at Parking Meters and Other Locations and Street Closures Before, During and After Red, White & BOOM!
To ease the flow of heavy vehicle
traffic, parking restrictions will be in place on numerous downtown streets
before, during and immediately after Red, White & BOOM! Most parking
restrictions will be in place by Tuesday, July 3, at 8 a.m. Signs will be
posted in these areas to remind motorists that there will be no overnight
parking. Any vehicles that remain beginning at 8 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, will be
ticketed and towed. During the hours of parking restrictions, parking
meters will be bagged and temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted where no
meters are present.

Beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, July
3, all streets within the following boundaries will be closed:
· North:
Spring Street
· South:
Mound Street
· West:
McDowell Street
· East:
3rd Street
All closed streets will reopen at
12:01 a.m., Wednesday, July 4.
Long Street will be open from 6-9
a.m., on Monday, July 2, Tuesday, July 3.
Motorists are reminded to be alert
for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling to and from Red, White & BOOM!
activities. Motorists and bicyclists must obey all traffic laws and, by law,
must share the road legally and safely. Bicyclists riding after sunset and
before sunrise are required by law to have operational headlights, taillights
and reflectors on their bikes.
