“Ticket Only” Pilot Program
For
the 2019 street sweeping season, the Division of Parking Services will
institute a “ticket only” pilot program for street sweeping (except for
University District). Previously,
vehicles would be both ticketed and towed if they remained on-street during a
scheduled sweeping. This program is
designed to evaluate vehicle removal compliance for street sweeping via
ticketing only, while maintaining the City of Columbus’ commitment to clearing
our streets of debris.
Ticketing
and towing will continue in the University District due to the significant
amount of debris that is collected in this area. In the past when street
sweeping was not strictly enforced, it resulted in significant flooding due to
water basins being filled with trash and other debris.
Vehicles
not moved during scheduled street sweeping will be subject to a $55 fine.
