Brick Street Repair Will Require Temporary Closures On Mohawk Street In German Village

Brick repair work on Mohawk Street between East Livingston Avenue and East Whittier Street will require the following temporary closures:

• A complete temporary closure of Mohawk Street between East Livingston Avenue and Jackson Street from July 20 through July 29, 2015, weather permitting.
• A complete temporary closure of Mohawk Street between Jackson Street and Beck Street from July 30 through August 7, 2015, weather permitting.
• A complete temporary closure of Mohawk Street between Willow Street and East Sycamore Street from August 10 through August 24, 2015, weather permitting.
• One lane of Mohawk Street between East Sycamore Street and East Whittier Street will be closed, with two-way traffic maintained in the open lane from August 25 through September 7, 2015.  Flaggers will be stationed at either end of the one-lane closure to maintain safe traffic flow.

Only square or rectangular sections of brick within each segment of Mohawk Street will be repaired or replaced.  The sizes of the sections to be repaired vary, but no entire curb-to-curb widths of Mohawk Street require repair.

Mohawk Street is one of 23 Columbus streets to receive brick repair work in 2015.   Following the work on Mohawk Street, eight of the 23 streets will remain in 2015, with all work expected to be completed by November 13, 2015, weather permitting.  No complete road closures will be needed.

• Kenmore Road between Cleveland Avenue and Billiter Boulevard :  Scheduled for July 14, to July 20, 2015, weather permitting
• East Maynard Street between Cleveland Avenue and Billiter Boulevard:  Scheduled for September 1,  to September 4, 2015, weather permitting
• Beech Street between East Kossuth Street and East Columbus Street:  Scheduled for September 7, to September 18, 2015, weather permitting
• East Frankfort Street between South High Street and Mohawk Street:  Scheduled for September 21, to September 25, 2015, weather permitting
• East Kossuth Street between South 5^th Street and South 6^th Street:   Scheduled for September 28, to October 9, 2015, weather permitting
• East Sycamore Street between Mohawk Street and Jaeger Street:  Scheduled for October 12, to October 20, 2015, weather permitting
• West 3^rd Avenue between Neil Avenue and Harrison Avenue:  Scheduled for October 21, to November 2 , 2015, weather permitting

• West 8^th Avenue between Neil Avenue and Michigan Avenue
• East 20^th Street between Summit Street and alley east of North 4^th Street
• Avon Place between Miami Avenue and North 20^th Street
• East Capital Street between 18^th Street and Hoffman Avenue
• Cliffside Drive between Indianola Avenue and Calumet Street
• East Como Avenue between Calumet Street and Morningside Drive
• Elliot Alley between Garfield Avenue and the first north-south running alley east of Parsons Avenue
• Glenmawr Avenue between East Tompkins Street and East Maynard Avenue
• North Ohio Avenue between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Atcheson Street
• West Pacemont Road between North High Street and Milton Avenue
• Parsons Avenue between East Livingston Avenue and 105 feet north of East Livingston Avenue
• Pennsylvania Avenue between King Avenue and West 8^th Avenue
• East Tulane Street between Summit Street and the end of East Tulane Street east of Summit Street
• Worthington Street between King Avenue and West 9^th Avenue

Total cost for the repair of bricks on the streets included in the project is $1.4 million.
