Street Streetscape Improvements, Vine Street to 9th Avenue

The
departments of Development, Public Service and Public Utilities are
collaborating to improve the streetscape on High Street in
the Short North, Weinland Park and Greater Columbus Convention Center area.
The sections
on
High Street between Goodale
Street and Convention Center Drive plus 7th to 9th avenues are scheduled to start
construction in May 2017. The enhancements will improve safety, upgrade infrastructure above and below ground, provide accommodations for
pedestrians and bicyclists, and include:
Sidewalks, curbs and curb ramps;
resurfacing pavement as needed
Street lighting, traffic signals, signage, pedestrian countdown timers
and
push-button signals
Storm sewers and waterlines
Landscaping, trees and more
Representatives
from the city of Columbus and designer Korda/Nemeth Engineering will be on-hand
to give a presentation and answer questions
on
all phases of the project. Exhibits illustrating roadway
features and property impacts will be on display.

** Directions: The circular driveway on High Street across from the Hilton will close April 24 for a construction project. Enter convention center via Nationwide Boulevard, High & Vine, High & Spruce (Arnold statue) or Goodale Street. The High & Vine entrance is the closest to the meeting room. Take escalator to
Eisenman and Trott Rooms.
