Public Parking Lot Improvements
Description and Benefits:The departments of Development and Public Service are
collaborating to make improvements to the Pearl Street and
Eden Alley area in the Short North. The finished project will
facilitate better stormwater drainage, improve roadways, provide
additional parking and upgrade pedestrian facilities.
Project includes:
• Reconstructing Pearl Street between Russell Street and I-670
with new brick pavers and improved stormwater drainage
• Resurfacing Eden Alley with asphalt pavement from intersection
of Eden Alley & Pearl Street to approximately 242 feet east of
Pearl
• Expanding existing City-owned public parking lot on Eden Alley
from 11 spaces to 25
• Building and upgrading Americans with Disabilities Actcompliant
curb ramps, to include improvements to curb and
pedestrian facilities
Schedule:
Construction scheduled to start in May 2016
Estimated Costs:
Design: $56,000
Construction and inspections: $517,000
