Homicide Case Review Unit
The Homicide Case Review Unit continuously strives to provide new and innovative ways in which to get information to the community we serve, in an effort to solicit their assistance identifying, apprehending, and successfully prosecuting those who have committed murder in our City. Our mission is to provide complete and thorough investigations for all of our victims and to be compassionate to the families and communities impacted by this crime. Any information you have may provide a voice for those victims who cannot speak for themselves.
The Homicide Case Review Unit is consists of one sergeant and five detectives; all with extensive homicide investigative experience. The unit is responsible for unsolved/cold cases dating back to the 1950’s. With so many cases to choose from, unsolved cases are only opened and actively worked as “cold cases” when we receive new information, the case is assessed and has a sufficient number of solvable factors to warrant an active investigation, or when asked by the currently assigned homicide detective to give the case a fresh look.
