Columbus Blue Jackets, City Officials To Dedicate New Playground Funded and Built by the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation at Beatty Community Center

In 2016, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation announced a $400,000 grant commitment to build and install eight Blue Jackets-themed playgrounds throughout central Ohio over the next four years to help kids get healthy, play safely and stay active. In August, Blue Jackets staff and some former players spent the day completing the installation of the fifth of these playgrounds at the Beatty Community Center. 

Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is celebrating the completion and official dedication of this newest playground built in partnership with the Blue Jackets Foundation. 

“The Blue Jackets organization is incredibly proud to provide this opportunity and help Mayor Ginther and the City of Columbus toward their goal of having a playground and park within a half mile of every home,” said Katie Matney, interim executive director of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.  
The program will include remarks from the Blue Jackets Foundation and local officials. 

There will be food and activities following the formal program.
